Since paving a way for himself via his record label Kwata Music Inc, Mic Monsta has not only been Mic Monsta has been raising a complete army of artists but has been on a trajectory and on another level, not only by himself but with his entire label. When an artist like Dready Christ accepts to submit under a dream and umbrella like that of Mic’s, then he must have deliberated over and over again and seen the blissful side of things. Dready is one of the most intelligent African urban artists and he’s also the President of the label.
Mic has also brought under his label, a group of richly talented young men Torch City Music and they are heading for the stars. Just last week after their show at Bonanjo, they followed up the show with a collaboration of “Asap” featuring Ngoma which comes after the “Back Market Cypher” both of which featured everyone on the label.
The Music industry is quite broad and with talent littered all around looking for who to lend a hand to. Sometimes the problem is not who to help, but how to help. However, I think Mic figured out how to a long time ago. He’s brought Kingunz (Music producer) and it seems like he brought in a comedian too (Pa ngwa). This is really a great idea and a blend of talent!
I’m really hoping we pay much attention to what Mic is doing with Kwata Music. We can’t have our hands akimbo and give a deaf ear as if there’s no work being put in. Since we’ve been paying more attention to inter- industry issues, the music and artists are looking international, the international battles are fiercer and more robust. If our music reservoir doesn’t preserve enough music or prepare many outlets so as to be able to face the future, we’ll have issues.
Look closely at how Jovi is fortifying himself and his record abel musically and commercially. The few who can break the bank very soon if they are intentional and strategic about it are Mic Monsta and his crew. The future can very bright.
