Isnt it amazing to FINALLY see a black woman with dreadlocks make it in the top five spot (#4 to be exact) in a Miss World pageant? Well all that happened during this years Miss Worlds pageant held in London. The beautiful Dr. Sanneta Myrie aka Miss Jamaica (yes you read that correctly she is a Medical Doctor) made it to the top five and although she didnt win and the crown went to 23 year old Miss Spain, in my books Miss Jamaica is the real winner- flaunting her dreadlocks in a pageant that high profile when most if not all women of color would have permed their hair or worn weaves to look more caucasian. KUDOS to you for showing the world that being yourself is all that matters and for not succumbing to the pressures of looking a certain way to feel beautiful or good enough to win!
