Popular artists from the English zone of Cameroon have over the years been bashed for singing in French and not entirely in English. The topic in itself is an emotional topic that always for one reason or the other drives tempers. After thorough research by The HotJem team, we have been able to confirm information that we once suspected could have been the reason why most artists started fusing English with French into their lyrics. One of our suspicions was that most of these artists want a larger audience and market which the English population alone cannot provide.
Mr. Leo is one of the many artists who has faced this criticism over the years too, but his reason for fusing both languages was stated unapologetically by him. Mr. Leo after recounting his singing and Music career from, when he met Salatiel and Blaise till now is one of the most motivating stories for an artist who grew up in the Anglophone Region.
