Mr. Leo confirmed to have started singing while in Form Five (10th grade) and finally hit the studio as a musician in 2009. Being a very brilliant student back in the classroom, music was never a target dream at one point in time but for some reason, the search for a girlfriend back then led him to meeting Salatiel and Blaise B who have been immense contributors to his career as an artist over the years.
After recording many songs under the supervision of Salatiel and Overdose, his manager whom he believes is God sent with their relationship beyond just a contract paper binding them, he happened to have released his first song after years of constant hard work and deliberation with the team in 2014/15 called “E Go Better”.
According to Mr. Leo, “E Go Better” was an inspiration from Nigerian star Flavour Nabania’s “Ada Ada” song initiated by Salatiel which was to be strictly done in a Cameroonian way. Mr. Leo wrote it over three times and only got his lyrics validated on his fourth attempt. According to him, “E Go Better” opened the road for the artist we see today but there was still more than enough work to be done. This is why the song gave him popularity in the Anglophone region but didn’t give him money. Imagine being a popular and broke artist living in Buea?
