The only open door was that he had seen the light. In as much as he believed E Go Better would be a hit, he didn’t think it would be that massive. As such, the gates for fame were already wide open and it was left to him to decide whether to continue or quit the chase. In his words, if the English community had showed him the support he deserved at the time when he started, without having to overlook his talent and paying him 5,000 FCFA for performances at movie premieres and many shows, he would never have had a second thought of singing in another language.
As such, when he discovered that he was getting more popular and even less richer, after a long discussion with Salatiel, he decided to move to #Douala to open ways for his career. According to Mr. Leo, immediately he crossed the Mungo River, life was already becoming different. Despite having to move from one snack-bar and DJ to the other, the picture was already more clearer. This is where he thinks his financial breakthrough came from, though it didn’t come overnight.
Many people don’t even know that Mr. Leo was the youngest engineer recruited at the Delmonte Banana Corporation in 2012/13 after he obtained a Bachelors degree from the Catholic University of Buea. He had to quit the job to pursue the music that he was already a part and parcel of. Coming to Douala was even more frustrating as life got tougher and at some point in time he had to join street boys.
