CAPE TOWN – A TOURIST’S DREAM

Cape Town was breathtakingly beautiful! I spent more time taking snapshots of almost everything I saw. Too bad I can’t post them all but I will post them up on Flickr sometime soon and post a link to it. I have to say the the highlight of my trip to SA was my trip to Cape Town! As a lover of water and beaches and sunshine, Cape Town is my kind of place. The extremely long stretches of water and beaches makes any tourists mood change and of course I took a private tour bus ride with two of my family friends to have a better understanding of its history and all that good stuff. We made sure to stop at several popular stopping points to take in my surrounding. Here are some photos I took of mostly water 🙂
My next stop was Table Mountain – Yes! The famous Table Mountain. I was so bummed earlier because we were not able to go to Robben Island as the weather was too foggy and a bit windy so they stopped all trips to and from it. But we did make it to Table Mountain so I was excited and it was amazing seeing how much fog the top of the mountain had. When I got there it was clear and you could see the entire city. After approximately 40 minutes the top of the mountain slowly got covered with fog!! It reminded of the horror movie “The Fog“ where a town got covered with fog and then people started getting killed in the fog! OK let me stop. But yuo get the gist of it right?
I was very excited to find out that Table Mountain is one of the 7 Wonders of the World. As of late 2012, the famous Table Mountain was officially added as tone of the 7th Wonders of the World. Interesting fact.
From the top of the mountain, you experience an amazing and breathtaking panoramic view of Cape Town. Unfortunately, this experience was short-lived as the clouds started closing in over the mountain which produced a very foggy effect in a matter of minutes. This is why I did not post many pictures of myself at the top of the mountain since a lot of the pictures were not clear due to the heavy fog.
I also went to an ostrich farm where I some some very big ostrichs that looked 6 feet tall!!! One was not scared of the tourists and walked towards us! Another snubbed us and turned its back to us! 🙂
