It’s only January and we already have a long line up of new songs being released by many Cameroonian artists like Bessem Tataw aka BESSEM who is a Cameroonian Afro-pop singer, songwriter based in Europe. Bessem is a phenomenal artist who started singing in choirs at the tender age of 13 and has now found her own unique voice.
Her music is a reflection of her Cameroonian upbringing, Nigerian heritage, and European influence with which she uses to combine English, French and (Pidgin-English) into her singing and songwriting.
After being very active in the music scene under the name ‘Miss Bess’ sharing stages in Europe with some big international artistes like Davido and Hiro, then taking a hiatus from the music scene, she is back and re-branded under the name BESSEM.
BESSEM just dropped her new single, Mon Soleil, produced by Nigerian producer – TK. Mon Soleil is a sexy and sultry song in which BESSEM serenades her lover. She sings the song in English and French and we think there is a tiny feel of Rihanna in this song when she says “… I’ma be a Bad Gyal for you”!
