Hello THJ’ers! Today’s feature is on a Cameroonian Artist whom I’m sure you will be seeing more of soon! Beltus Asahnjie Titanjoh aka Bay-B-Bat the Rap Aristocrat, is a Rapper, Singer, Director, Poet, Actor and CEO of Titan Inc. Like many artists, he developed an interest in music and acting at a very tender and young age.
His passion for arts had him singing in the school choir, acting and dancing at St. Francis College in Kumba, Cameroon where he obtained his O-Levels and later moved to CCAS Kumba and CCAST Bambili where he shared a room with a group of students who shared his passion. His desire to develop his creative side had him studying Theatre Arts in the University of Buea in Cameroon where he was President of the Theatre Troop for two years.
In pursuit of a record deal, Bay-B-Bat decided to travel to Lagos Nigeria in 2005 and during his stay there, he met with the amazing Eddy King of Livelyn Records in Ogunsiji, Lagos. Eddy offered him a contract which he accepted and thus, they started working on his album entitled ‘Days of Old‘. While in Nigeria, Bay-B-Bat performed in a number of venues around Lagos, Benin, Abakaliki etc. and was fast making a name for himself. Unfortunately, this joy ride came to an end when Eddy had to travel to the U.S.A. As a result, Bay-B-Bat returned to Cameroon only to find out that the urban music industry was still the way he had left it. As the need for money arose and the pressure from family, he became a businessman. As time went by the industry began to grow as Bay-B-Bat’s ideas for it grew.
He created a record label called Titan Inc. This label has signed a couple of artists at in Cameroon and abroad and it is also responsible for his first single entitled Whiner’s Joint featuring the one and only Rudy Bway in 2015. His latest and anticipated release, – Na ma mama featuring Keci Charm of Titan Inc. is an inspirational piece you wouldn’t forget anytime soon. With a sweet tribute to his mom (and all hardworking moms), a cool beat and very nice aesthetics this video is a MUST SEE. Checkout his Na ma mama video below and share it with your friends!
