We are loving this new song by Cameroonian artist Slick Babylo called “Palava Woman“. The title of the song which basically means Woman Troubles talks about the issues men go through because of women! The video which is quite humorous but talks about everyday reality related to men and how they deal with women issues features a couple of Cameroon’s funniest Comedians such as MC Calvino and Oboy da Comic. The singer uses some metaphorical phrases to explain the power of women (especially over men) such as “…woman get power pass catapilla“.
It’s visuals shows off and generous amount of African Print fabrics which is now the new trend in many African videos, particularly in Cameroonian music videos. It makes it hard to not notice the bold prints. Is this a way of Cameroon being proud of its African roots or are artists trying to stand out?
