PELUMI NUBI LINKS UP WITH WODEMAYA
Instagram travel influencer Pelumi Nubi has touched down Ghana after several weeks driving solo from London with an aim to reach Lagos, Nigeria.
The Nigerian-born UK citizen linked up with another young African inspiration Wodemaya, a travel vlogger and YouTuber from Ghana, the moment she entered the Gold Coast.
Nubi, who has visited over 80 countries, embarked on a solo journey, driving from London with the target destination being Lagos. She took off on January 31st, 2024.
She has driven across borders and faced several hurdles along the way, including being initially denied access into Sierra Leon as well as life-threating accident that shattered the bumper of her car as well as the windscreen. She shared videos of the damaged car on Instagram and also shared a photo where she was transported in an ambulance.
Pelumi survived the scare and is currently in Ghana where she has been visiting the seashores, to talk with Fishermen and other traders.
“Whoop, whoop, whoop… welcome to Ghana. Hahaha, guys we made it” she shared a video the moment she entered Ghana.
After Ghana, she only has two countries left with Nigeria being the main target. Of course, she was born in Lagos and left there for the United Kingdom when she was just 10-years-old
Pelumi Nubi, isn’t just a tourist or traveller. She’s an inspiration to the women of color as she continues to inspire them to dare and step out of their comfort zone.
According to her, taking this long journey, driving solo just to get to Lagos, isn’t because she could not afford a direct flight, but a way to show to young people that it’s possible to drive through these long distances if we are unable to travel by air. F
From January 31st, she hopes to complete her trip on April 7th, 2024. This is over two months, seven days of a solo adventure from the UK to Nigeria.
