Giraffes are very fascinating animals due to their height and beauty. They are the tallest living terrstirial animals. They can stand up to 20 feet tall and their us longer than the average persons height at over 6 feet tall. Giraffe’s are like the supermodels of animals. Long and slender making them look very majestic as they walk or run and they can run pretty fast! It is also said that giraffe’s have a big heart… I mean really they do as in their hearts weigh about 25 lbs. This makes a lot of sense as a large heart is needed to be able to pump all enough blood to reach their head which is quite a distance away from the heart.

According to National Geographic, “The giraffe’s stature can be a disadvantage as well—it is difficult and dangerous for a giraffe to drink at a water hole. To do so they must spread their legs and bend down in an awkward position that makes them vulnerable to predators like Africa’s big cats. Giraffes only need to drink once every several days; they get most of their water from the luscious plants they eat.”
They are herbivores and can reach some of the much taller trees that other herbivores can only dream of reaching which is an advatage to them as there would be an abundance in plants at the top than the ground. So if you are like us (love giraffes), you would appreciate them and their beauty. Like many other exotic animal species, they need to be protected from being hunted.
