That look women give their boyfriend, fiance or husband when it’s her birth month and he’s not saying anything about birthday plans. Why do women take it very personal if their man forgets their birthday? People do forget their own birthday you know? If you are a woman reading this, would you rather have a man who remembers your birthday and who celebrates you only on that day but does nothing else in your relationship to show that he cares, or would you rather have a man who sometimes forgets your birthday, but who is always there for you and treats you like the queen that you are? You might be thinking that “if he cares enough about me, then he should not forget my birthday if he knows that it means a lot to me.”
This might sound weird or cliche, but COVID-19 has some how dampened the actual act of celebrating one’s birthday because it has shown us that even celebrating birthdays per se is longer a huge priority when most are just happy to see another day alive. We must learn to celebrate just being alive and seeing another day. Especially when an invisible virus can decide that this week can be your last week alive.
If someone forgets your birthday or forgets to wish you a happy birthday, just give them a break. So much is going on in the world today people’s minds are clouded with fear, worry, and not knowing about the unknown. There are other ways that some people who care for you, will show that they really care about you. Don’t get me wrong, it’s always great to have your loved ones remember your special day but give people a break and see them for who they are and what they’ve done for you in general.
If there is one thing that life has recently thought many of us, is to not dwell on the little things and to cherish and be grateful for the things that matter. We come in peace. 🙂
