The 2025 summer transfer window has already brought many exciting moves across top soccer clubs in Europe, especially in the past two months. Liverpool made one of the biggest headlines by agreeing to sign German star Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen for a potential €150 million. He is set for a medical and will be a major addition to their midfield. They also signed Jeremie Frimpong, a talented right-back, for around £29.5 million, especially after losing Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid on a free transfer.
Manchester City wasted no time and spent heavily, bringing in three young stars: left-back Rayan Aït-Nouri from Wolves for £36.3 million, Dutch midfielder Tijjani Reijnders from AC Milan for £46.3 million, and winger Rayan Cherki from Lyon for £34 million. They also added Marcus Bettinelli from Chelsea as a backup goalkeeper.
Over at Manchester United, they secured Brazilian forward Matheus Cunha from Wolves in a deal worth £62.3 million. Chelsea also moved quickly by signing Liam Delap for £30 million from Ipswich, Estevao Willian from Palmeiras for €34 million, and Dário Essugo from Sporting Lisbon as part of a double deal worth £62.5 million. Borussia Dortmund added young talent Jobe Bellingham, the younger brother of Jude Bellingham, on a five-year contract. Bayern Munich focused more on outgoings, with Leroy Sané set to leave for Galatasaray on a high-paying deal. They are planning to replace him soon. Other notable signings include Taylor Harwood-Bellis leaving Manchester City for Southampton after they triggered a £20 million clause, and Brighton signing Ibrahim Osman for around €18.95 million.
In terms of rumors and ongoing talks, there is still a lot of attention on Bayern Munich, who are in search of a new winger and have their eyes on Nico Williams and Bradley Barcola. However, they may face financial limits due to their recent spending. Paris Saint-Germain also made waves earlier in the year by signing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia from Napoli for €75 million, and fans are eager to see who they will bring in next. Meanwhile, Real Madrid’s signing of Trent Alexander-Arnold without a transfer fee, but with a £10 million compensation package, shows they are still active and smart in the market. Clubs like Manchester United and Chelsea are expected to keep signing more players, with both sides needing reinforcements in several positions. Rumors have also linked Kepa Arrizabalaga with a move to Arsenal as they look to strengthen their goalkeeping options.
While many deals have already been finalized, fans can expect even more activity before the window closes, especially with the Club World Cup and new league seasons just around the corner. These past two months have already shown that the 2025 summer transfer window is full of ambition and big-money moves.
