Happy new month of February! In the March issue of Harper’s Bazaar magazine featuring Rihanna, what got my attention were the daring pictures she took with three 8 feet long sharks! Yikes… Yes you read that correctly. Rihanna did her photo shoot for this edition with real life sharks to celebrate the 40th anniversary of JAWS. For those of you who don’t know, Jaws is a movie that first came out in 1975, about a killer shark that killed anyone in its sight and it is also one of my favorite scary movies to date because I thought it was real when I watched it as a little kid.
This March edition of Harper’s Bazaar is also my inspiration for the month of February. Why? Because of the message I got from Rihanna’s interview in general. See the excerpt in the snap shot below. For me I have come to realize that in a world full of sharks you have to fight to get away from them before they get you. Taking upon new business ventures in addition to blogging sometimes feels that way. You sometimes feel like you are in the sea surrounding by sharks and I do not like sharks so I tend to stay away from such waters.
Reading her interview made me realize that even if you hate “Sharks” you have to prepare yourself for those times that you might encounter one unexpectedly and when you do you will know how to better handle the situation. This applies to everyday life. You tend to stay away from negative situations and from people who don’t want the best for you and/or who want you to fail and stay around those who are positive and can enhance your positive assets. They say birds of the same feathers flock together but sometimes you may find a hawk that comes in the midst of pigeons.
The moral of the story is that sometimes you must face your biggest fear. Take the risk, face it and then move on. It will only make you stronger! It is not fun playing with sharks. What worst could happen? But at the same time it is best to stay away and free of danger! I’m sure you get my point. My question to you all is have you ever encountered a shark in your life and how did you handle it? Did it make you stronger? xoxo…ME
