Since Cameroon’s urban music scene started getting a lot of attention from 2012, Salatiel has been consistently dropping hit after hit from 2014 till date, and then the game took another turn in 2016. From that time till today, it has been progress all through.
2019 was a difficult year for him as he had to part ways with Mr. Leo and Blaise B both of who left Alpha Better Records to work on their own record labels. Mr. Leo had already created Lionn Production while still with Alpha Better Records, and Blaise B created his label not long before his departure. At this juncture, Salatiel would shift the attention to his career. Maybe loosing two of his long time artists may have been a blessing in disguise as he could now fully focus on advancing with his own music. Whatever the case, also in 2019, things became more promising for the Alpha Better boss, when he featured in Beyonce’s Lion King Album in the track “Water” alongside Pharell Williams.
This was the turning point of his career. What this meant was that, the world was already watching him even more closer. This therefore means Salatiel had big shoes to fill and how did the 33-year old relish this pressure? He didn’t rush but took his time to later bring for our listening pleasures “Africa Represented”, an album that should at least hopefully earn him a Grammy nomination.
