Although last weekend’s star studded and seemingly successfully executed AFRIMMA award show has come and gone and has left the African entertainment industry talking about last weekends event and winners, here comes another entertainment award show called the African Entertainement Awards USA which is also for Africans in the entertainment industry and will be doing its 2nd Annual Award Show this month! Thankfully, both events did not take place on the same weekend although one would be curious to know which of the two events would have had a bigger turnout! The African Entertainment Awards USA aka AEA USA will be taking place on October 22nd in Elizabeth, NJ. It’s close proximity to New York City (NYC) ensures that many of the NYC based entertainers and people in the fashion industry will be there especially since NYC is still buzzing from its recent NYC Fashion week! One thing to note is that the AEA USA has several categories that were not seen in the AFRIMMA such as Community Award and even Best Blogger Award! Yes Bloggers do need recognition also as they drive a lot of the buzz in the entertianment industry too. THJ caught up with one of the organizers and he said that this will be a star studded event like AFRIMMA as many artists have flown from all over the world to attend this. Some who were at AFRIMMA like Harmozie will also be attending the AEA USA event! OK AFRIMMA do I smell heavy competition here?!
