This years Miss USA 2016 whic took place on June 5th, 2016 is Deshauna Barber, an Army Reserve Office and an I.T. Analyst  from District of Columbia (DC). She was up against Miss Hawaii who came in as the 1st Runner up. In the midst of Donald Trump’s sarcarstic statements against Hispanics and blacks in general during his campaign to be the next US President, , this serves as a huge achievement as Miss USA has historically been known to not give the crown to black women.
