7 ICONIC AFRICAN MUSIC GROUPS (BANDS) YOU SHOULD KNOW
6. Kiff No Beat:
Kiff No Beat is a team of five hip hop singers from Ivory Coast. They started their group in 2009 in the capital city of Abidjan. But in 2013, they really caught people’s attention and became famous.
Their teamwork and effort have impressed Universal Music Africa, a big record company that signs talented African artists. Even though they’ve only been around for about ten years, they’re still working really hard to make a mark in African music history.
7. Ridimz:
Ridimz is a music group from Cameroon that started in 2009 in Buea. It was founded by two young ambitious Cameroonians. Originally signed to “No Hits No Records,” the group was called Rythmz and had three members. However, one member left along the way, leaving just the duo, Phillbill (singer/producer) and Kezy (singer/mixer).
Their journey hasn’t been easy. They were once signed to Empire Music, but that didn’t work out. They then started their own label, now known as Ridimz. They’ve been working together for over a decade, starting professionally in 2012. Despite the challenges, the duo has found their rhythm and wants to share their music beyond Cameroon and Africa.
Each of these music groups is unique and creative in their own way. Which one do you like the most? Let us know your thoughts.
