Some time last year, singer Blanche Bailly made an unannounced trip to Nigeria, and only pictures revealed her presence in the Marvin Records Studio, when she posed with Don Jazzy.
While the intent of the trip wasn’t communicated, social media and bloggers were left in their assumptions, but The HotJem Magazine did its findings and released an article announcing that the singer would be making a comeback soon no with a huge body of work – an album.
Music producer, songwriter and singer Salatiel just recently showed the world, how with a good Repertoire and talent, Africa could be represented. This wasn’t for him alone, but a motivation to other Cameroonian singers. You must be dreaming, if you think that Blanche will go to Nigeria and return with her hands akimbo. And it would be inadmissible for you to think that the “,imba” crooner would want to do an album and limit it only to Cameroon.
Thus were saying that before releasing “Doudou” featuring Beninois singer Fanicko, she had already recorded songs with other artists like Joeboy, Ko-c and other African superstars we can’t mention for Profesionalism’s sake.
Doudou ft Fanicko has recently hit 1.5 Million streams on YouTube. There’s no doubt that Cameroonian singers have had a good working relationship with Beninois artists, so the numbers ain’t surprising… but with a swinging relationship between Cameronian and Nigerian artists, especially with the feud of whether Cameroonians should still be inviting or collaborating with Nigerian artists, one couldn’t hastily predict the outcome of what a collaboration with a Nigerian artist would produce.
It’s equally unarguable that Most collaborative works between artists from both countties haven’t really favored Camer artists and as such, many would be indifferent when Blanche and JoeBoy stepped on one.
While we believe Blanche is less troubled by Joeboy not sharing the audio of “Mine” which was exclusively released on Boomplay, fans of Blanche and other concerned Cameronian music lovers are worried about the Nigerian, surprisingly snubbing the audio release yet still like some of his counterparts have done in the past.
However, from another angle, JoeBoy’s silence could equally be a strategy to get fans agitated about the release, while he proceeds to share after numerous tags and shots by fans.
It could equally be according to their business agreement. You can say both artists are of the same generation, but their relevance is not the same. As such, sharing the song might not have been part of their agreement, especially given that Blanche’s song was adopted by Boomplay exclusively. JoeBoy might not have seen his potential gain of sharing and promoting boomplay on his hoghly followed social media handles.
They could equally have settled for an option that he’ll rather share the video when its finally available… these are possibilities. While the emotional side of us can’t understand why both artists will do a song and one refuses to share it, the business rules suggest a different look at the whole scenario.
We can go on and on, but what we can’t do is seize JoeBoy’s account to share the song. Of course he sees the tags or his team does, but these can’t change the contract they both signed.
With Blanche being an A-list artist in Cameroon, who has equally shared the same energy with other uprising artists in the country, she could be less bothered as she knows why sometimes they don’t share projects they feature in or why it takes time for them artists to do so!
