What do we think? Well… we do think that she wears very little clothes. However, it’s showbiz and as an entertainer her job is to entertain her fans which doesn’t only comprise of the music portion but also includes fashion as an artists style plays a huge part in their brand identity and how they want to be perceived.
Honestly, I wouldn’t pay her dressing any mind because at the end of the day, Blanche is one smart cookie who knows exactly what she’s doing.
So going back to the main topic of this post, on Twitter some lady who goes by the Twitter handle veraorock tweeted a question asking what people think of 237 (Cameroonian) female artists songs and basically someone who goes by the Twitter handle fabsytabe expressed her annoyance of Blanche and asked if the singer has to be naked during her shows.

Blanche being the diva who can defend herself responded in Pidgin English with a simple “Yes I must. U go vex for long eh. Ashia” (which in English means ‘Yes I must. You will be upset for a long time. Sorry’)!

The moral of this story is that as much as social media is a forum to express our thoughts and ourselves, we should also remember that artists, celebs, public figures also have feelings and are human too. I am sure that if someone was critical about the way you dressed you might feel hurt and be defensive. So don’t think that when you’re judgmental of what these celebrities do, that they will not come for you with a response. Some do and some don’t. Blanche Bailly in particular has been one of the few artists from Cameroon who has constantly been faced with criticism on her style of dressing.
Our question to you all is how much bareness of female artists is considered too much? Are we even in any place to judge? Should we be concerned given that many are role models to many others? Can these female artists sell their music without stripping off 80% of their clothes? Can they ‘WOW’ a crowd all covered up? Or should we just let it be and consider it as being simply entertainment? The HotJem will have expand more on these question on a future post so be on the look out. Even better follow us on all our social media platforms so you don’t miss out on any posts.
