Popular Cameroonian singer Daphne Njie claims she accidentally deleted her Facebook page with over 2 million followers but we’re not buying it. Let’s walk through the process of deleting a Facebook page.
Before a Facebook account or page is deleted, you must enter your password and prior to deletion, Facebook asks you a couple of times if you want to delete your account or page to be sure it’s not a mistake or an emotional act that might leave you regretting it later. It doesn’t stop here.
The Facebook Help Center page provides the following guidance for deleting a Facebook page as follows:
When you request that we delete your Facebook Page, we’ll unpublish or deactivate your Page immediately but it won’t be permanently deleted until 30 days have passed. You can also unpublish or deactivate your Page at any time.
You can also delete your personal account.
Therefore, it’s surprising that she answered ‘yes’ when asked if she would like the page to be deleted and then proceeded to delete it “accidentally”. We’re also surprised she doesn’t know that you have 30 days to restore the page before it is permanently deleted from Facebook as prior to the final deletion check, Facebook informs you that the page will be unpublished for 30 days after which it will be permanently deleted. Did she not see that notification or did she “accidentally” miss it?
I think Daphne is up to something and is trying to build her backup Facebook page for whatever reason. My guess is that she unpublished her page and did not delete it as she claims, in en effort to force her fans who love her dearly, to follow her backup page to keep up with her daily activities. `Watch how people will follow that backup Facebook page and then her E.N Daphne page will suddenly reappear.
Anyway, Daphne Njie took to her Instagram page today to explain what happened. She said was trying to deactivate it (I wonder why) and accidentally deleted it.
Daphne if you truly want your page back, just go online and you will see lots of explanations from Facebook on how to get it back if it was deleted. It is a fairly easy process (if you know your password) so not sure why she’s making it sound complicated.
Unless you no longer have access to your password which is also very questionable as Facebook asks anyone deleting their page or account to first enter their password before you delete you page as a security step and to be sure that you really want to delete it.
If it were truly accidentally deleted, we hope she does get it back as gaining followers is absolutely not an easy process! One must literally break their backs to gain and keep followers so we feel her pain.
