Our Song of The Day is a song that was released last year called Bassogog by US-based Gabonese artist Ya Minko. Ya Minko who currently resides in Washington D.C., told The HotJem that:
I make music ranging from Hip-Hop, to Afrobeats & R&B/Pop among other genres. Last year I released this record titled “Bassogog” with a Cameroonian artist friend of mine, Erwin Dollar. The record uses Bassogog as an inspiration to share a motivational chant of victory using Afrotrap as a sonic base, and celebrating the efforts of one our African athletes.
The first verse of 1st verse of the song was written as a reference for an other artist by Ya Minko but ended staying on the song due to scheduling conflicts. Bassogog it is supposed to be a fun, encouraging and celebratory song, celebrating the excellence of a fellow African great in the process.
