Let the light in
Following your deep spring clean, there are no reasons to shield sunlight from entering into rooms as much as possible. As your thorough dusting has taken care of all dust and allergen particles in the air, it’s time to open the windows and let the light in.
Whilst the prospects of inserting new windows into existing buildings might seem bleak, there are a few ways to make the most out of what the sun has to offer. Extracting all we can from the sun is one of the most important features in any interior. Sunlight has been proven to relieve symptoms of depression and alleviate our moods. As the days get longer, here’s how we can extend them further.
Reflective surfaces and strategic placements of mirrors has been an age old trick for many designers. The reason is because it works. Hanging mirrors that capture the light and bounce it through the room is a great way to never forget the sun’s still shining. It creates an atmosphere of openness and enhances our mental well being, even when we’re cooped up on the brightest of days.
