Clean the air
If interior design is about making the interiors of buildings a healthier, happier place to be in; air quality matters. In regard to Spring, it matters more. Allergies rise, hay fever affects the est of us and pets begin to shed. Each element has a negative impact on the air we breathe in.
Strategic air filters are an obvious way to go. They ventilate and circulate clean and healthy air for us to breathe and live in. From a design point of view, there are a few things we can do to create beautiful interiors and maintain fresh air.
Plants are known to consistently improve the air we breathe in and are scientifically found to be natural air purifiers. Plants that are found to be especially good at improving indoor air quality include aloe vera, lady palm and areca palm.
They’re incredible decorative features too, as they add color texture and form to a room. Not to mention, we spend over 80% of our time indoors, meaning as a population, on the whole, should be aiming to bring the outdoors in as much as possible.
Carpets have been used by interior designers around the world for centuries. Whilst elegant patterns and vibrant colors are a sure way to bring the interior design of a room together, they also contribute to keeping the indoor air clean. They collect settled dust particles and allergens and hold them down until vacuumed away.
