“TA FILLE N’EST PAS TA FEMME” VIDEO BY X-MALEYA SETS OFF ANGRY EMOTIONS AGAINST SEXUAL ABUSE
Music band X-Maleya is back again with a new video for their song – Ta Fille N’est Pas Ta Femme from their 6th studio album CARDIO. This video comes after the release of their other videos for songs off the CARDIO album like like Fianga, Mon Gout, Dieu N’oublie Pesonne and Je T’aime.
Ta Fille N’est Pas Ta Femme in English means “Your daughter is not your wife”. Although its title seems self-explanatory, there is a much deeper meaning to this song.
A dark side of mankind that lurks in many homes with a “stable looking family structure” that is not being addressed and that is sexual abuse which we call the silent killer.
The video shows how a family is broken apart because the head of the household violates his “daughter” and by constantly sexually abusing her. How can a father do that to his daughter? It is unimaginable.
She is not your wife to be having sex with her. A father should protect their children not commit acts as demonic as this and hence the title Your daughter is not your wife.
Under the directives of the XM Music Foundation this song and its visuals, is one of the many projects to be carried out by X-MALEYA as they embark on the journey to combat sexual abuse (especially among teenagers) in our community, which is becoming increasingly rampant.
DID YOU KNOW THAT:
- Sexual abuse starts before 11 for 1 victim in 2 and before 6 for 1 victim in 5
- In more than 90% of cases the perpetrator is a relative, 1 child in 2 is abused by a family member
- One victim in 2 abused during childhood tries to commit suicide
- Worldwide, 1 in 10 girls under the age of 18 has been raped, amounting to 120 million

Thus, the time is now to make a difference. The more people are informed about child sexual abuse, the fewer victims there will be. Ta Fille N’est Pas Ta Femme which potrays the ordeal of a little girl, in the hands of her perpetrator, beckons on anyone in such a situation to speak up and not remain silent.
The title explains the song in its entirety. In line with this project, a short film by X-MALEYA will be released early next year, to be used for a sensitization campaign, with a tour of the 10 regions of Cameroon, organizing workshops, seminars and talks on the way forward to combat this syndrome.
