In Austria, there’s a beautiful place called the Grüner See, or Green Lake. From August to April, it’s a green park. But in spring, the snow and glaciers in the nearby mountains melt, causing the water level to rise sharply.
The water can rise 4-5 meters, and sometimes even 8 meters. But the water is so clear that you can see up to 30 meters deep. When the park is underwater, it’s amazing to see. Benches, flower beds, bridges, and paths are all submerged. It’s like an underwater park, with crystal-clear, fresh water.
The Grüner See changes with the seasons. In the warmer months, it’s a lovely green park. But in spring, it transforms into a one-of-a-kind underwater landscape, where you can see the submerged park in all its glory.
It’s a unique and breathtaking sight that not many people get to experience. If you’re lucky enough to visit the Grüner See when it’s flooded, it’s an unforgettable experience.
