THE IMPORTANCE OF FINDING YOUR SOUND AS A RECORDING ARTIST
Last year after the “Naso” project with Tzy Panchak, the other finalists went on to release projects while Tina stayed behind the scenes and was sure she was ready before striking the balance which she did exceptionally. She responded to critics with “Musica“, “Yuti” and further released “Jei” a song that briefly decodes who she really is. All these songs were an indication that she had already discovered her sound, especially after dumping rap which was what she started with and embracing what she now labels as “Afro Njang“.
Now that she’s been quiet, does it mean she’s losing out and can’t keep up to the demands of her sound? Hell no. Tina is steadfast and very conscious. Though she feels the pressure from her fans and supporters, it is good to understand that She’s not the ranting type or the one who throws or fires shots to stay relevant. She would rather get into the studio and do covers for Charlotte Dipanda’s songs if she hasn’t got a song to release yet. This however doesn’t make her confuse, it just keeps her busy while she focuses on consistently developing her music.
