I don’t usually talk about sad incidents on my blog but I wanted to share this story that has been buzzing all over the internet, on Facebook and on many Cameroonian blogs among the Cameroonian community! On March 1st (what a way to start the month), an unarmed homeless Cameroonian who was referred to at the time as “Africa” was shot down four times by the Los Angeles Police officers! #LAPD. A passer by who witnessed the shooting actually had live footage via his cellphone on how this homeless man was shot to death!
The below video was obtained from YouTube. You can check out the video here but I have to warn you that there is violence and it is graphic and can be disturbing to some.
It has just been reported that the name of this homeless Cameroonian who went by the name of “Africa” has been revealed. According to the Los Angeles Times (as reported on “The Independent”) his name was Charley Saturmin Robinet, a 39 year old French national. I originally read the article of the shooting of this homeless man on www.Cameroononline.org as seen HERE and I shared their link on my Facebook Page today as seen HERE and it has been shared more than 30 times as I type this. Let’s not underestimate the power of sharing blog posts as it reaches millions of people at a much faster rate.
