THE RAZZ GUY 2021 MOVIE SUMMARY
The Razz Guy is a Nigerian comedy-drama film directed by Udoka Oyeka, released in 2021. The story follows Temi Johnson, a successful businessman known for his perfect grammar and eloquence. Temi often corrects others’ English and looks down on those who speak “pidgin English” or make grammatical mistakes. Just as he is about to close a significant business deal, he suddenly loses his ability to speak correctly.
In the movie, Temi encounters Agbero who shares a similar problem but in the opposite way. This encounter adds an interesting twist to the storyline and provides a unique perspective on Lasisi’s experiences.
The film explores the impact of Temi’s arrogance and high-handedness. An office cleaner casts a curse on him, which affects his speech, turning it into a major obstacle as he tries to secure an important international business merger. Temi must find a way to lift the curse and regain his proper speech, or he risks losing the deal.
The performances in “The Razz Guy” are praised for being energetic, committed, and playful. The film’s pace is quick, and its runtime is tight, creating an overall happy and entertaining tone. However, the story is considered thin, with minimal drama and stakes. Most of the humor comes from the contrast between Temi’s usual eloquence and his sudden inability to speak properly. If viewers do not find this comedic element amusing, they may not enjoy the film as much.
The cast includes notable actors such as Lasisi Elunu, Nancy Isime, Omotunde Adebowale David, Bucci Franklin, Frank Donga, Iretiola Doyle, and Broda Shaggi. “The Razz Guy” was produced by Trino Motion Pictures and distributed by Filmone Entertainment. The film has a runtime of 99 minutes and is primarily in English.
