Albert Ezerzer and D. B. Woodside have often been mixed up by fans of the television series Suits because of their resemblance and the way their names became connected to the show. Many people believed they were the same person, or that Albert Ezerzer himself played the role of Jeff Malone. But this is not true. They were two different men who only seemed linked because they looked alike and because of a special tribute that appeared on screen.
Albert Ezerzer was never an actor in Suits. He worked behind the scenes in film and television production as part of the transportation department. His job was very important because he was responsible for helping cast and crew move safely during filming. Although he was not on screen, his work supported the success of many projects. Sadly, Albert passed away in 2014. After his death, the Suits team dedicated an episode to his memory in season four. At the end of the episode, viewers saw his name appear in a tribute. It was a touching gesture from the producers to honor someone who had been a valued member of their crew.
This tribute, however, is what started the confusion. At the time the tribute appeared, the character Jeff Malone had been introduced into Suits. Jeff Malone was played by D. B. Woodside, a professional actor with a long career in television. Because Albert and D. B. looked very similar, some fans who saw the tribute assumed that Albert must have been the actor behind Jeff Malone and that the show was honoring him because he had died. The timing made the confusion stronger, as the new character had just appeared and Albert’s name was suddenly displayed on screen.
In reality, it was only D. B. Woodside who played Jeff Malone. He gave life to the character, who was a sharp lawyer and love interest to Jessica Pearson. His role became important in showing a different side of Jessica, balancing her power as a managing partner with her personal life. Outside of Suits, D. B. Woodside is also well known for roles in 24 as Wayne Palmer, Lucifer as Amenadiel, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer as Principal Robin Wood.
The resemblance between Albert and D. B. cannot be denied. Both men had similar features, complexion, and presence, which made the mix-up easy for casual viewers. When combined with the tribute that appeared right after Jeff Malone was introduced, many people concluded wrongly that Albert was the actor they had seen. This is how the misunderstanding spread widely among fans and continues to be repeated even today.
Looking at the facts in order makes it clearer. First, Albert Ezerzer worked faithfully behind the scenes in the industry. Then, after his death in 2014, Suits honored him in a season four episode. Around that same time, D. B. Woodside was introduced on screen as Jeff Malone. Because Albert resembled D. B. and because his name appeared in a tribute while Jeff Malone was gaining attention, many viewers connected the two and thought they were the same man.
Both deserve to be remembered in the right way. Albert Ezerzer should be honored for his dedication and the respect he earned among his colleagues in film and television. D. B. Woodside should be celebrated for his talent as an actor and the strong characters he has played across different shows. They are not the same person, but their stories became linked through resemblance and timing. This is why the mix-up exists, but knowing the truth allows fans to appreciate both men separately and fully.
