Mimie and Locko are taking us back to the days of Nelly and Kelly. First of all, these two artists are perfectly bilingual (English and French) and this puts them one step ahead of many other artists in the industry.
We get to witness many misfit collaborations from time to time in the music industry. You know those songs you watch and you are just like “Did those two really need to waste their time”? Such collaborations are like square pegs in round holes. Unlike the aforementioned collaborations, Mimie and Locko have yet again proven that they’re likely a five and six (5 & 6) pair. I guess saying they’re 1 & 2 would be much of an exaggeration!
Three years ago, Locko invited Mimie to star in his “Boo Boo” song which didn’t disappoint. Just as we would expect, both were a perfect match in a video directed by Dr. Nkeng Stephen. It is worth noting that after the release of the song, so many speculations grew on social media about a possible relationship between the two, as they did have some noticeable closeness. It however all ended in rumors as Locko’s Career took another height and Mimie became a mom during the same period. At this time, Locko was still under Big Dreams.
Fast-forward, Mimie has brought Locko to spice up her song “Faya” and you won’t see many of such collabos in this music industry. I mean, the chemistry that both share is one we’ve seen with artists like Simi & Falz. They don’t force the vibe, it just flows smoothly like they’re made for one another.
In this video directed by Chuzih, you are going to notice vividly the enticing effects, sexy colors, the acute angles, not leaving out the artist’s display. Mimie is undoubtedly energetic but her morphology, which she spent months working on has given her some very irresistible moves. She is literally seductive in this clip, and I swear, locked in a room with her with that display and that body, a man will need five Sabbath days to keep him holy! Her outfit and those curves are not for under 18 years old folks.
Locko on the other hand has grown into a magical song fixer. He’s effortless and his vocals are just angelic. Not many male artists can afford that. if outfit is also one that should not be ignored. Although the stylist is unknown, he/she is, deserves some accolades as they understood the assignment.
There is also the dance concept that we often see in Beyonce’s videos. Mimie has been instrumental in that domain. She has never neglected her choreographers in any of her clips. It is magical how everything just falls into place.
When I listened to the audio a few months ago, I knew for sure that this song would eventually have a video, because at the time, it was a potential hit song. They have indeed done nothing but justice to the video. I have been watching the Faya video over and over again and I am not getting tired of it anytime soon
