Hello THJ readers! As you know we love to always bring you the latest trends in African fashion! Trending right now is the Wazal 2016/2017 Collection is called “Ova Tété“by Joseph Ayissi and it is inspired by a Cameroonian slang ‘ova’ which means a bigger and noble person and ‘Tété’ which refers to chic and bourgeois. In addition, Joseph states that “the word chic here is used to describe the amazing and modern appearance of the clothings. Therefore those who have good taste and know how to dress well are characterized as chic.”
Noble and quality materials were used in this collection, including first choice wax (African print) from Senegal or Mali. According to Joseph Ayissi, he says that this collection is 10 years in advance or shamelessly 5 years in advance as he prefers being ahead because the fashion world is in constant evolution. So THJ’ers… take a look at his new collection and tell us what you think! 🙂
