Popular Nigerian social media influencer VeryDarkBlackMan, has been in police custody in Nigeria for more than 24 hours following yet another controversial video.
After making a video accusing the Nigerian police, Bobrisky and other top state officials, VeryDarkBlackMan found himself in police custody hours after that viral post. He was also detained, following a petition filed by Tonto Dikeh for defamation and character assassination.
What happened leading to his arrest?
VeryDarkBlackMan accused Tonto Dikeh, claiming she’s Gistlover and has been using the platform to drag Nigerian celebrities. The feud between the actor and the social media influencer has been going on for a while. VeryDarkBlackMan had been arrested by the same Tonto Dikeh, some few months ago but was released afterwards.
However, following VeryDarkBlackMan’s accusation, Tonto Dikeh didn’t hesitate to involve the police on him after he made the trending public video, insisting that Tonto Dikeh was Gistlover.
He also opined that Popular transgender, Bobrisky has been sleeping with top Nigerian senators and police men. This unfounded claim, also prompted his arrest. Since he was abducted by the police, social media has been blowing up as netizens believe it’s the right time for him to be served his own tea.
The influencer started on a good footing barely a year ago, launching a popular social media campaign against malicious skincare brands who didn’t have NAFDAC registration numbers. This campaign was well received and proved worthy. This didn’t only give the influencer a voice but huge following, which is now seemingly against him as they believe he has switched from what they knew him for.
He’s still in police custody, and will only have to wait till next week to be bailed by his team.
In as much as Bobrisky and Tonto Dikeh are not in good terms, many believe the former “besties” have low-key joined forces to send VDM behind bars.
As it stands, VeryDarkBlackMan who has always made sure others learn the hard way is currently learning the hard way.
