Universal Music Group Buys Lion’s Share Of Mavin Records

Popular African record label Mavin Records founded in 2012 by Don Jazzy, has now officially sold the most part of its shares to world leading record label and music distribution powerhouse, Universal Music Group (UMG).

It has been reported that Mavin Records which is a home to popular artists like Rema, Ayra Starr, Ladipoe, and more, has sold 80% of its shares to Universal Music Group. This means that Universal Music shall oversee most of the work engagements, involving both entities as Mavin is now officially a record label under the leading stakeholder.
Universal Music, has been all about business as they were recently made headline news as the company recently ended their partnership with popular video platform TikTok and removed all their artists songs from the platform.
