International model, Valerie Ayena, turns plus one today. In the last 6-7 months, the international model and brand influencer has been clapping back at her followers due to her recent weight gain resulting from a medical condition she has that caused you fo gain weight.
In an interview in October 2022, after not posting any photos on her Instagram since May 2022, Ayena said that many people as well as her fans kept congratulating her as they thought she was pregnant. Some went as far as insulting her and calling her fat due to her weight gain and would say nasty things like she was prettier skinny or they preferred her when she was thinner.
However, even with the weight gain, she is still very slim! This means she was quite thin before the weight gain. Being on the thinner side has typically been a subtle requirement in the runway modeling world.
Fast forward to 2023, the former beauty queen is doing great and flourishing in her journey as a brand influencer, as she secured more brand deals ever since her interview. She recently collaborated with an Italian vineyard and wine company in partnership of the Italian Embassy in Cameroon, and has secured a deal as brand ambassador for an insurance company located in South Africa as well as many more endorsements deals in other countries and currently Valery Ayena is seemingly VERY unbothered by the clout chasing.
She is one of the most successful beauty pageant winners from Cameroon and is one of the favorite and most successful Miss Cameroon’s to date since over the years since her title win in 2013, she has actively been intentional about building her brand to where it is now and has consistently and successfully been able to build her brand over the years both abroad using modeling as her main source, as well as in other African countries as a brand ambassador and influencer, unlike many of the previous Miss Cameroon’s who fell off from the public eye and off our radar.
