In the world we live in, the world has become a melting pot or has it? The dating game is a very interesting arena if you pay close attention to it and it’s dynamics. We usually see brotha’s (slang for black men) dating or marrying white women especially once they become success. This is very visible among professional athletes like in the NBA and NFL.

What’s up with that? When you were struggling and trying to make ends meet, you were cool with having and dating a sista (slang for a black woman) but once you make it big or so you think, suddenly your taste changes?
I have to admit that whenever I see a successful black man who has achieved educational and financial success, my first thought is “I can bet my yearly salary that he is dating or married to a white or Asian woman”. Let’s just say that 75% of the times I was right.
Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with interracial relationships at all. In times like now where were preach about #BlackLivesMatter it’s even more important to teach love regardless of color. However, it’s hard not to notice the number of single black women out there compared to their white counterparts. Why?
It’s just a bit weird that more and more black men seem to not be attracted to black women and I’m trying to get to the root of this so if it’s something the sista’s are doing wrong (maybe an attitude problem or maybe they are not ambitious or not – who knows), then they can better themselves to become more marketable in the dating and marrying game.
Does this mean these guys don’t find their blood sisters and moms who are black as being attractive or what? One excuse I’ve heard one too many times from black men who date outside of their race is that black women are too materialistic. That’s when I say “Oh really?”

Last time I checked, when a black man married a white woman and later divorced her for whatever reason, she would get a lawyer and get her fair share of any assets attained during marriage the same way a black woman would. The excuses are very funny to me. Well sista’s, it’s time widen your horizons so wake up and don’t limit yourselves too! Go out and get you a man who will love you for who you are and not what you are and don’t limit yourself coz the dating game is harder than you think.
Don’t mind my ranting. I do know there a many more factors that can result in why black men tend to date white women very easily but I just thought it would be nice to get the conversation going. I will come back with a follow-up write up to this.
