All About The Wrap Dress… My Pick For The Week

I had stumbled upon the above picture while looking at some cute outfit ideas for the summer to share with you all.  I have always secretly loved these “shirt” like wrap around dresses. I love this dress! This is a simple but chic look that can be worn with any body type and well accessorized.

Do I see some kind of African theme to it?? Ladies…would you ROCK this look or NOT?

Then I remembered that the wrap dress just turned 40 years old this year! It was introduced into the Fashion world by Diane Van Furstenburg (DvF). I really like a lot of her stuff. Her clothes tend to touch that feminine side but yet a bit edgy enough to be worn by all ages. I even love her luggage sets (which seems to only go on sale at Macy’s during the Christmas time so if you want it,  get it then).

The wrap dress has amazingly survived 4 decades of fashion trends!!! A timeless piece…kinda like the Louis Vuitton’s Speedy bags that never seem to go out of fashion.  It can be worn with different boots from ankle to knee high boots and different shoe styles ranging from pointy to platform shoes…you name. Its very versatile. I suggest you look into getting one of these wrap dresses and have fun with it and it doesn’t have to be a DvF one. Many stores carry them now like Banana Republic, Zappos to name a few.
