I am sure you are wondering what is so special about this event but it is special as it was organized only by women located across three continents, in less than two months (for something that needs 4-6 months of planning) and it will focus on interactions with Cameroonian bloggers and bringing social media awareness to businesses and entrepreneurs in Cameroon and to all other Cameroonians. As many of you may not know the use of Social Media and blog engagement with readers in Cameroon is still very behind compared to other African countries! Social Media has been very successful in boosting and promoting bloggers, businesses and local celebrities (actors, musicians, artists etc) to stardom in countries like Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Ethiopia whereas Cameroonians seemed to have shied away from utilizing it to enhance businesses and their own talents! But this will soon change!
As a Blogger and Editor of a growing blog site I have always envisioned and dreamed of being a part of a new generation of bloggers and social media users who would change the way we use Social Media in Cameroon by bringing awareness to our Cameroonian communities to be much more supportive and engaging with bloggers they follow and to better interact with businesses they deal with and also for better collaboration between bloggers, companies/businesses and entrepreneurs as bloggers are greatly changing the way we communicate in today’s business environment and social media driven world!This event will take place at the beautiful and luxurious Le Meridien hotel located in Douala, Cameroon on December 30th!
