Her name is Uyinene Mrwetyana, a 19-year-old film student who was brutally murdered in South Africa. Uyinene a student at the University of Cape Town had so much going for herself with a bright future ahead of her. Last week she went to the Clareinch Post Office to pick up a parcel but was told to come back later due to no electricity so she went back later to pick it up.
A 42-year-old male postal worker who is the prime suspect admitted to luring her in (which doesn’t always seem weird as sometimes you have to go into the office to sign for your package as they sometimes scan it there). As soon as she went in, he locked the door, raped and brutally murdered her. He then proceeded to dumping her body in another town. Like many other females in South Africa, she was killed for NO REASON.
Over the last few days, many South Africans have taken to Twitter reporting their loved ones (all females) who have suddenly gone missing and they are worried as right now females in South Africa are being raped (they have a high case of rapes in SA), getting missing and killed. What is going on over there in South Africa?

Remember the Xenophobia incidents that took place in South Africa a couple of years ago that made news headlines? Many haven’t healed from those gruesome acts of violence and now this? Many are asking why would you bite the hand that supports you? Why are they not fighting against those who have and are still oppressing them? Instead they are taking their violence out on the same black people who have been on their side and supported them since the days of Mandela and after? So many questions but we are yet to have an answer. We can only pray that this situation stops now before it results to a domino effect.
