YOUNG HOLIDAY IS READY FOR AFRICA BUT IS AFRICA READY FOR HIM?
Eta Ejob who’s stage name is Young Holiday, is a Cameroonian rapper signed to Vanilla Tunes, a record label he headlines. It is sad that he still has to be introduced but he has to suffer it to be so. He has been here for as long as you can say but why does he still need introduction? Time has always been a solution to difficult questions.
At the moment when African Hip-Hop is taking another dimension, it becomes good news for artists like Young Holiday. It is ironical that sometimes, the ones who do the real work hardly get rewarded for their input but who’s to blame? Sometimes the violent only taketh it by force.
Growing in an industry where everyone wants to make a mark and others don’t want to give space for some, it becomes extremely difficult to break even, but as they always say in pidgin English “Banana weh get for ripe must ripe” It will surely get ripe.
Young Holiday day is a conscious lyricist and spits not just flattery bars but facts that everyone can relate, even though he spent most of his time talking about himself but why wouldn’t he exalt himself if no one does? His rhymes and punchlines get you in awe and his flow is just so mature and unpredictable.
Though he looks really calm and “innocent”, he has on many occasions in his lyrics/flow tried to wipe out that thought away from the minds his listeners. He just has what a conscious rapper needs. You won’t want to mess with him on a freestyle battle do you? This guy has worked extremely hard may he was working just hard, but there is some smartness we’ve noticed lately.
He’s stepped out of his comfort zone, out of that shell of fear and bet you, he’s ready for not just Cameroon but Africa. You can’t talk about talented MCs out here and leave him out except you are talking about just fame and riches. Trust it, he has discovered how to escape the shackles and there might just be no stopping him. He’s worth your every cent and time.
