In addition, It is very appallingly boring to discover that in 2020, Cameroonians still consume foreign gospel music more than the home music despite all the hard work and resources these artists employ. Don’t tell me gospel music is gospel music, because we see Cameroonian artists performing songs in concerts originally done by foreign singers but we can’t trace one foreign artist who has been seen or heard out of Cameroon performing a song by a Cameroonian artist. Even if they want to, how many of these artists have their songs on streaming platform? Which off them can easily be discovered if searched?
Let’s do this if you are in Cameroon: Call ten people in your street and tell them to name for you six of their favorite gospel artists. If they name for you three out of six, then please give your life Christ. If they name all, we change this blog name to “Gospel Cameroon“. Now, forget about their favorite artist, ask them to name five Cameroonian gospel artists they know, if they do name them, ask them to give you the title of a song by the respective artists. Very few will pass this test and Seriously, this is how much work is still left undone.

The blame of why fans consume more of foreign content will always be directed towards the fans but we beg to differ that these musicians do little for their craft to be known. Getting their songs on promo platforms, getting info about them on websites and not limiting incomplete information on Facebook and Instagram (social media) will help a great deal. You. Will bare with us that very few of these artists as well have links of their songs on their social media bios and this is so because little details are being ignored or may be neglected.
