Women are better risk managers than men
– Adenike Fajemirokun Fajemirokun
Adenike Fajemirokun, the Group Executive Director of Special Duties and Chief Risk Officer of Dangote Group, believes that women are better risk managers than men. She does not often feature in most conversations about the growth of the Dangote Group, however, her work therein makes the noise for her.
She has been an unsung force behind the success of many risk management decisions taken to advance the company. When talking about who is a better risk manager; men or women, she said,
I think women are generally better Risk managers. Better thinkers through the objective risks that we face. We are a lot more thorough and less impulsive in making business decisions. So, I think women can certainly play more roles in Risk management. Most of the strongest ones I’ve worked with have also been women.
