Most home artists prefer to sing about foreign brands or may be display foreign brands like Phones & cars in their videos to show luxury and intend market those companies for free. How these things help them when most of them are just doing the show is baffling, whereas they could use home products or may be mention some of these big companies in their lyrics.
Artist like Fally Ipupa, Petit Pays and other well known artists understood this a long time ago. Using big Cars et al doesn’t really attract deals or may be they do, but in Cameroon, there’s a big question mark! In the latest clips by Aveiro Djess , his dressing shows where he Comes from, the environment, he hardly fakes it, but he’s making it.
This is beyond just being a talented artist.. His backpack isn’t some Gucci, Luis Vuitton or some channel. It’s a home made bag. This is why some artists stay relevant in the eyes of big brands and most others who think are too talented and lack attraction think the smart artists are using witchcraft, hell no, it’s not voodoo. It’s investing energy in the right places.
One thing artists should make peace with is the fact that fame is just like a morning sun, It comes and goes. Sometimes the prolonged rainy seasons might cause it to not even rise at all. What are we saying, as an artist, making use of your high tide moment is key. Secure possible deals when you still can, because music-sphere has many others and you all might not share their own Time. To add, the energy fans, dancers, etc who are just excited to feature in his clip even without pay reduced his cost of production.
Do you think he pays everyone who features in his songs? No! But they are happy to feature and this is quite a boost! This strategy worked for artists like Toofan who know how to rally the community in their music which intends help in marketing as those who feature will be anxious to share when the song is released! In a nutshell, there is nothing as exciting as reaping the fruits of your labor.
When an artist like Aveiro Djess who has been in the industry for some time and has made bad business decisions over time but finally gets it right, he’ll want to make proper use of the moment which is exactly what he’s doing.
Special acknowledgements to his team and management. We are learning. Check out his latest songs below!
