This is the day her fans have all been waiting for has finally come. Daphne Njie who is the the first Cameroonian artist living in Cameroon to have one million Instagram followers just had her Instagram page verified. This is a big deal as her page is very active and have consistently grown from 30,000+ followers back in March 2017 to 1.3 Million followers in less than 2.5 years since her hit song Calée went viral in all of French Africa and many other parts of Africa making her one of the first Cameroonian female artist to have 1 million YouTube views in a very short time – if not the first Cameroonian female artist who resides in Cameroon.

To date, Daphne still has the highest number of followers by any Cameroonian artist so we were very surprised that she had not yet been verified by Instagram like her fellow colleague many of whom all of whom suddenly got verified between March 2019-August 2019 like Ko-C, Minks, Tenor, Charlotte Dipanda, Blanche Bailey (who recently got verified within the last 2 weeks) and more. Majority if them with the exception of Charlotte Dipanda, Tenor and Blanche Bailey had less than 150,000 followers at the time of their verification which made many to wonder and ask… “how the hell did Daphne not get verified before them?”
