Dede who’s real names are Larissa Dede Zinkeng, is not your average Make-up artist (MUA) and Entrepreneur. She has a lot going on for herself as she is also a full-time Nurse by education and training, a wife and a mom! This boss lady’s love for making women and people look and feel beautiful and her hardworking mentality is why she chose to embark on her passion as a MUA and also as a Beauty Entrepreneur. With the launching of her lashes called the 3D Mink Luxury Lashes, she is set to live her dream as a growing entrepreneur while taking over the makeup industry one product at a time. This is smart move as she can use the lashes she sells as part of her makeup to sell to her clients.

Dede is a self taught MUA who started makeup in 2015 in the little town of Buea in Cameroon. Buea may be a small town but it’s fast emerging as the country’s technological hub and dubbed “Silicon Mountain“. So it’s no wonder that anyone who hails from this town has a mind of an entrepreneur. She started doing makeup on upcoming models, artists and of course family and friends. She is well known in the Cameroonian community in the US and in Cameroon where she worked with actresses, models and people in the entertainment industry and has been growing her clientele base in the US where she currently resides. With the launching of her first ever 3D Mink Luxury Lashes Collection, this will better solidify her place in the Beauty arena as she now has a product to sell.

The 3D Mink Luxury Lashes Collection currently has four different styles of lashes depending on your personality. Which means there are lashes for different people and for different moods namely: FLAUNT ME, SHOWSTOPPER, BUZZY and ELEGANZA as seen in the photo below. Each style has a different thickness with FLAUNT ME being the thickest and is most likely to be the lashes of preference for those who want people to notice their eyelashes and who want to flaunt them unapologetically, followed by SHOWSTOPPER for those who want to make a bold statement and be noticed, and then there is BUZZY. Lastly, there is ELEGANZA – the least thick of the four styles and is most likely to be the preferred choice for those who prefer a lesser density, a simpler and more natural feel to their eye lashes as well as a more elegant look.

THJ: Do you prefer doing makeup or being an entrepreneur building a business like launching products such as your lashes?
Dede Folefo: I prefer myself as an entrepreneur especially being a full time Nurse, mom, and wife. I love doing makeup too though but having a makeup brand gives me more satisfaction.
THJ: Who are your biggest clients… Africans or non-African? If African which countries use your products and services the most? Dede Folefo: Actually, Cameroonians based here in the US recommend me and come to me more. Still building my USA diverse audience. Hoping to get more exposure to clients from other countries.

One thing very noticeable when you look at Dede’s work as a makeup artist is her attention to details around the eyes.
