“i am the next big thing in this industry” – Flosha (Queen of Afro Beats)
We came across a brand new song which sparked our interest by a UK based Nigeria/Cameroon Afro beats singer called Flosha. Although we are tempted to say that she is an up and coming artist as we haven’t seen much of her work yet, we will reserve that title for a later time after more careful investigation of her musical history. But for now, we’ll just called her Flosha! She just released the visuals to her latest song called POPO on YouTube on August 24th.
Per Flosha’s YouTube caption on this new song Popo, it says that “The song is already gaining popularity among the listeners and fans across the planet, and if experts in the industry are to be believed, the same is likely to continue in the times to come as well.” If current YouTube views (which is at 382 after 5 days of release as we post this write-up) were to be taken into consideration, then we would have to contest that statement. However, in my opinion the song has a lot of potential for those who are into Afro beats and all and we are really feeling the songs energy and Flosha’s vibes both in the song and video.

She did not come here to play and I’m sure her dual nationality (Nigeria and Cameroon) will mean benefiting from a wider audience which hopefully would be an added advantage to her from a music perspective as Nigerian’s are a lot more supportive in my opinion plus they have a much higher population compared to Cameroonians which isnt as easy to break into but I am sure her Cameroonian fans might appreciate her efforts as well as this is song is a bit of a different flavor. Do you remember Nelly and Kelly Rowland’s verse in this song? 🙂
The release of Flosha’s first single in 2017 was called ‘Give me your love’, which according to the information provided on Flosha’s YouTube page under the Video for Popo, “went viral owing to the rush from the public. Its publicity was vast and listeners over the globe has been anticipating for her next launch.” It seems as if love songs is the common theme in Flosha songs as this song Popo, it shows her love for her man even though at some point it seemed as if he was not returning the love back.
Flosha seems to also be very confident of herself. She stated that “i am the next big thing in this industry” . You need to believe in yourself first before others do! This new song ‘Popo’ is simply a new sound that lovers can relate to, as it steers back the passion in their heart. With a theme well suited for clubs, parties, engagements, etc. you can’t afford not to listen to this piece. I have to say, I played the video a few times back to back as I enjoyed watching it. SO now it’s your turn to watch and enjoy it.
