According to Mme. Bezawit Mengesha, many factors can account for the success of the company over the last 75 years. However, she believes that nothing has contributed better than the efficient and reliable workforce present all over the world with the same vision, coupled with collaborations with other airlines and countries that supported their expansion into other countries. Ethiopian Airlines with Motto “Bringing Africa Together” is a partner with five other African airlines, operating from four hubs with the main hub being Addis Ababa. Other hubs include Lomé in Togo (partnering with Asky Airlines), Maputo in Mozambique, N’Djamena in Chad (with Malawian Airlines and Tchadia Airlines operating flights from N’Djamena) with the aim of providing first class services, knowledge and assistance to other carriers in Africa.

Ethiopian Airways has been in Cameroon since the 1970’s. Mme. Bezawit Mengesha took us back to the 1970s, when Ethiopian Airlines just started operating in Cameroon. Their operations began in the commercial city of Douala and due to many interruptions, the company was obliged to restructure its services and start all over again in October 2003. Back then, the company operated just three flights a week, but now has improved the frequency to a daily level. Upon request and Growth, Ethiopian airlines started a second destination in Yaoundé, the capital city, in 2015. Though it wasn’t easy to travel from Yaoundé to other parts of the world, the company with her expertise has tremendously reduced that burden.
