We all are aware that Dance Challenges are often a very popular and effective method for Artists to promote their songs, while the dancers are also able to use the opportunity to have fun while hoping to get the mouth watery sums of cash set aside for the winners.
This is usually done in such a way that the Dancers upload and post videos of them dancing to the said Song of an Artist, who promises the owner of the Video with the Highest Views a said sum of money
I sincerely applaud such concepts especially when they happen to have a Disney-like ending with none of the parties concerned feeling exploited or cheated in any way.
That is, the artist feeling satisfied about the audience he’s able to get from the Dance Videos of his/her song posted on YouTube/Social Media in general, and the Dancer/Dance Crew designated as Winner returning with the said prize, be it kind or cash as the case usually is.
But it’s not news anymore that some of the popular Dance Challenges announced and launched in 2017 happened to be Fake or let me just say #FakeDanceChallenges were the trend this past year.
I’ll go deeper… mind you, my wish is to see that more Dance Challenges with mouth watery prizes for the winners and as usual, immense fun for the participants in general continue this year.
I see no point for an Artist making good music to launch a Challenge, get people to dance to the song and once the competition closes, not giving the said prize to the winner.
Adding more flesh to the words of a good friend of mine and also an excellent dancer and member of one of Kamer’s top Dancing Crews; “Let’s just put an end to this!”
Of one of such Dance Challenges was launched last year by an Artist for whose work, I have great respect in the name of Leboii Cool aka CoolKid Berka. No Rants, grudge or hard feelings, but I’m humbly reaching out to this brother to find out if the winners of the #DoualaChallenge got their prizes as stated. [In a Peaceful Voice]
Sincerely, ya’ll should #KnowYourWorth and I don’t know how, but be keen to keep away from such ventures!
For the sake of the entire 237 Entertainment industry; artists, dancers, well-wishers and all those concerned, with no hard feelings or hateful intentions, permit me use this particular opportunity and request you all to join voices and say:
#NoToFakeChallenges
#NoToExploitations
#YesToRealDanceChallenges
Thanks,
