Drawing back to five years ago, Sir. Phiophio Tata Kinge Malachi II thrilled people with something similar, when he came through with his “Love Your Neighbor” album. His “Panya” song which is a showcase of the Bakweri culture and dance was a hit, a hit because it is a song that came at a time when Cameroonian music had just welcomed a new vibe. But he came in with what no one expected and delivered it simple and relatable. The rhythm and vive was everything to the Bakweri people.
If you watch that song, you’ll not see all the Bakweri traditon but you can already say this dance moves are bakweri dance moves. The dance steps even went viral.
During this period when Cameroonian cannot boast of a unique dance style, the Njang dance has been trending since this song was released and you’d want to see more of this In this video but the dancers in the video didn’t seem motivated. Such a song would have been shot in the village may be but i guess we can blame the on going crises for surely hindering such moves but…
Now that everyone sounds dissatisfied with the outcome, may be we have misunderstood the concept and should watch again to try to get it more clearer. Nonetheless, take nothing away from this master piece. It is an irresistible vibe.
To conclude, Witty might need to stick to this genre that is getting required attention and use the attention wisely, something should undoubtedly be in the pipeline to backup this song.
