Multi-award singer and Lion of Africa Mr. Leo – Artist is one of those naturally gifted singers and songwriters that #Africa is blessed to have. Since coming to the limelight, Mr. Leo has only done nothing but written his name in the record books, achieving a milestone and grabbing several awards in just a few years of activity.
Not only talented, the incredible vocalist and musical trailblazer is very humble, respectful and highly professional. He rose to prominence under the umbrella of Alpha Better Records, a record label he probably gave his all while there. After several years of constant hard work and excellent delivery, he would taste international collaborations which scaled himself and his. employers beyond just the ordinary.
Despite tasting and parading with national dominance in music scene for some time, he still doesn’t get as much attention and respect as many artists do. Does this really mean it’s because he’s less controversial? He remains one of the most humble in the game, puts his fans first and does all in his ability to satisfy them and always plays the peacemaker role when it comes to the industry.
He is for the record one of the most trolled of his generation and he has always handled that with a meek spirit, not because he doesn’t get hurt, but because he understands the norms. He has been battered uncountable times about his dress code by critics which he always laughs about it and tries to step up just to proof that he acknowledges corrections and criticism.
However in 2020, Mr. Leo’s reaction after he was called out by blogger Fabz Chi, who we believe didn’t really mean bad, but who just thought that Mr. Leo as an international icon, could step up his dressing and branding game was a rare one. His reaction was rare, because many had not witnessed that other side of him, and he seemed to have had enough. But trust it, he really considered the correction and criticism and he’s been working on it.
As Ironical as it may sound, after his contributions “for the culture” like any other artist, managing personal and community growth maturely, he still seems to be the most trolled and you might want to ask why history always repeats itself.
He doesn’t seem to get more respect that he deserves, may be because he is not a Blanche Bailly who won’t downplay trolls but gives the troller’s share or a Salatiel who will smash you off. Looking at how international fans from other countries value and respect this artist, you might want to demand more from home fans and supporters.
WHY THIS ARTICLE?
During a live session with 237Showbiz a few days ago, he was still getting a lot of hate words from most commenters and we all know he’s not a troublemaker. But while he was live on African Entertainment Awards, USA – aeausa, you could see excitement from international fans who were watching. The love reactions and encouragements were noticeable.
Now, when fans do all the trolling and throw all the hate speeches, they end up blaming bloggers and media outlets. However, one thing is certain, he remains the humble and understanding type, but his recent reaction when he was called out is just a tip of the iceberg and a clear indication that he might eventually lose patience with the continued disrespect, because he’s just human.
All in all, Mr. Leo remains a priceless asset and deserves maximum respect even if he doesn’t demand for it. He definitely like any other artists or celebrities wants it, and most fans shouldn’t use his humility in place of weakness. If he ever loses his patience by overreacting, then YOU must have caused him to. He might not have a big fan base like Jovi or Stanley Enow but he relatively deserves and needs your support now that he currently runs his own label Lionn Production with two amazing uprising talents Kameni and GOMEZ 237 after moving on from #AlphaBetterRecords.
